System requirements
BookKeepr is packaged as a Docker container image. It can run on your own hardware, in the cloud (AWS, etc.), or on hosts like Linode or DigitalOcean. The minimum specs recommended are:

You can easily run BookKeepr on your laptop, in the cloud, or even on a Raspberry Pi. As long as Docker is installed, it will work anywhere. Linode's Nanode 1GB plan is a great option for running BookKeepr.

How much does it cost?
BookKeepr is completely free and open-source. No ongoing fees, no monthly or annual charges, no per-user fees, and no support contracts. It’s truly cost-free.
How do updates work? Do they have extra costs?
Updates are free—no extra costs. However, updates aren’t automatic. You’re responsible for downloading and installing the new version as it’s released. The update process will vary depending on how you installed BookKeepr.
Are native iOS and Android apps available?
Currently, no. However, BookKeepr is optimized for mobile web use. You can access it via a mobile browser tab or as a Progressive Web App (PWA), which you can add to your home screen like any other app.
Is customer support included?
We provide best-effort support. We’re happy to assist with basic questions, but we cannot troubleshoot complex custom installations or fix issues caused by changes to the code.
Can we import data from other bookkeeping apps into BookKeepr?
Not at this time. BookKeepr is a fresh start, designed to help you build your bookkeeping from the ground up.
